Story — English
Chosen by Allah as king of Bani Israel when they asked for a king to lead them against their enemies. They objected — he was not wealthy or of noble birth. The prophet told them: ‘Allah has chosen him above you and has increased him abundantly in knowledge and stature. And Allah gives His sovereignty to whom He wills.’ The test of the river — whoever drinks from it is not with him; only those who take a handful are of his company. Most drank; only a small group remained faithful. They went on to overcome Jalut’s army.

بنی اسرائیل نے بادشاہ مانگا — اللہ نے طالوت کو چنا۔ انہوں نے اعتراض کیا: نہ مالدار نہ خاندانی۔ نبی نے کہا: اللہ نے علم اور جسم میں فوقیت دی۔ دریا کا امتحان: جس نے پیا وہ ہمارے ساتھ نہیں — اکثر نے پیا، چند ثابت قدم رہے۔
