The Absolute Sovereign
Root: م-ل-ك — To possess, to govern
Category: Names of Power & Sovereignty · In the Quran: 5 times
Meaning — English
Al-Malik is the King whose dominion is absolute, unconditional, and eternal. Human kings borrow their authority, lose it, and die. Al-Malik owns everything inherently — nothing in creation exists outside His kingdom. On the Day of Judgment, all pretended sovereignties dissolve and only Al-Malik remains (40:16).
In Daily Life
When you feel powerless before worldly authorities, Al-Malik reminds you that the ultimate authority rests elsewhere. No decree of any earthly king can override His.
