Story — English
A prophet who was afflicted with severe illness and loss for years. He called upon his Lord: ‘Harm has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful’ (21:83). He did not complain to people, did not curse his fate, did not lose faith. Allah responded: ‘So We responded to him and removed what afflicted him of adversity. And We restored his family and the like thereof with them as mercy from Us.’ He is the Quranic archetype of patience in affliction — not passive silence, but active, trusting petition to Allah. Surah Sad mentions he struck the ground with his foot and a cool water spring appeared for him to bathe and drink.

نبی جن پر شدید بیماری اور تکلیف برسوں رہی۔ دعا کی: ‘مجھے تکلیف پہنچی ہے اور تو سب سے بڑا رحم کرنے والا ہے’ (21:83)۔ شکوہ نہ کیا، ایمان نہ چھوڑا۔ اللہ نے سب کچھ دو گنا واپس کیا۔ زمین پر پاؤں مارا — ٹھنڈا پانی نکلا۔
