Story — English
Wife of Ibrahim and mother of Ismail. Left with her infant in the barren, uninhabited valley of Makkah by Ibrahim on Allah’s command. When Ibrahim turned to leave, she asked: ‘Did Allah command you to do this?’ He said yes. She said: ‘Then He will not let us be lost.’ She ran between Safa and Marwa seven times in desperate search of water for her dying child. The Zamzam well burst forth. Her run (sa’y) became one of the five pillars of Hajj — preserved for all time. She is the mother of Ismail and grandmother of the Arab prophets.

ابراہیم کی بیوی، اسماعیل کی ماں۔ ننھے بچے کے ساتھ بے آب و گیاہ مکہ میں چھوڑی گئیں۔ پوچھا: ‘اللہ کا حکم ہے؟’ ہاں سنا تو کہا: ‘اللہ ہمیں ضائع نہیں کرے گا’۔ صفا مروہ کے درمیان دوڑیں — یہ سعی قیامت تک حج کا رکن ہے۔ زمزم ظاہر ہوا۔
