Story — English
The chosen companions of Isa who believed in him and supported his mission. When Isa asked ‘Who will be my helpers toward Allah?’ they responded: ‘We are the helpers of Allah.’ They asked for the Table Spread (Ma’idah) from heaven — a feast from Allah as a sign and festival day. Allah granted it with a warning: whoever disbelieves after this, he will punish with a punishment unlike any in the worlds. They are cited in 61:14 as the example of supporters who helped Isa, and the call is made to believers to be like them.
