Isa (Jesus) — عِيسَى

عیسیٰ علیہ السلام

Also known as: Jesus, Al-Masih (The Messiah), Kalimullah (Word of Allah), Ruhullah (Spirit of Allah), Ibn Maryam (Son of Mary)

Reason: Mighty messenger; born of miracle; performed miracles by Allah’s permission; was raised to Allah; will return before the Day of Judgment

Story — English

Born without a father to Maryam bint Imran — a miracle. Spoke in the cradle (19:29-33). Given miracles: made birds from clay that flew, healed the blind and leper, raised the dead — all by Allah’s permission. Given the Injeel. Called Bani Israel to return to true monotheism. The disciples (Hawariyyun) believed in him. The Quran corrects critical misconceptions: Isa was not crucified — ‘They did not kill him nor did they crucify him, but so it was made to appear to them’ (4:157). He was raised to Allah (4:158). He is not divine — ‘He is only a messenger’ (5:75). He himself disavowed worship of him (5:116). He is expected to return before the Day of Judgment. Predicted the coming of Ahmad (Muhammad ﷺ) (61:6).

بغیر باپ کے مریم سے پیدا ہوئے — معجزہ۔ گود میں بولے (19:29-33)۔ اللہ کی اجازت سے اندھوں کو بینائی، کوڑھیوں کو شفا، مردوں کو زندگی دی۔ انجیل دی گئی۔ صلیب نہیں دی گئی — اللہ نے اٹھا لیا (4:157-158)۔ الٰہ نہیں — نبی ہیں (5:75)۔ احمد ﷺ کی بشارت دی (61:6)۔ قیامت سے پہلے واپس آئیں گے۔
